John William “Johnny” Smith, age 79, of Russellville, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Johnny worked hard all his life as a heavy equipment operator.
He leaves to survive his memory, his wife of 57 years, Linda Sue Smith; children, Darryl Smith, Tammy Smith; grand-children, Cortney Smith Davis (William), Trinity Smith; great-grandchild, Paisley Davis; brother, Vernon Smith (Sue) and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Jackson & Ethel (Arthur) Smith, and nephew, Jerome Smith.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jason Burcham and Bro. Ricky Phiefer officiating the service. Burial will be at East Franklin Cemetery with masonic rites.
