John William Gresham, Jr., of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024. Mr. Gresham was born in Florence, Alabama to John William Gresham Sr. and Mittie Mae Crymes Gresham. John graduated from Coffee High School in 1953 and then from Auburn University with an Aerospace Engineering degree. After 42 years of government service, he retired from NASA in 1997. John was an active member of Jordan Park Church of Christ. He and his wife, Joyce, enjoyed bass fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joyce Wallace Gresham; sons, Jeffrey Wallace Gresham, Scott William Gresham, and Ronald Alan Gresham; brother, Robert Gresham (Sarah); and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dean Gresham.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
