John W. Bullington, 88 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Bullington was born on October 4th, 1934, in Limestone County, to Wiley B. Bullington and Willie Clanton Bullington.
Mr. Bullington is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Brooks Bullington; daughter Beth Bullington Carter (Randy); son John William Bullington, Jr. (Brandy); and granddaughter Ellie Brooks Bullington.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandson Paxon Thomas Jordan.
Funeral services for Mr. Bullington will be Sunday, March 26th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Central Church of Christ, with Barry Tucker, Dr. Matthew Barrett, and Perry Scott officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30-1:50pm at the church. Pallbearers will be Wade Pepper, Grant Pepper, David Ruf, Alan Gilbert, Grover Lawson, and Bill Wales. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Bullington’s memory to Athens Bible School.
