John “Tommy” White – Obituary

Tommy WhiteFuneral service for John “Tommy” White, 65, of Decatur, will be Monday, September 30, 2013, at 3 p.m. at First Bible Church with Steve Bateman officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. White went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 28, 2013, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born February 12, 1948, in Moulton to Horace and Opal White. He received his bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University, and was a member of the National Guard. He attended First Bible Church. Mr. White was a broker at Sunset Real Estate and owner of Tommy White Construction and Courtyard Restaurant. He enjoyed hunting, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his family. He loved to spend his time with his favorite passion, his granddaughter Alexis.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis Glenn White; son, John Bryan White of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kimberly Kaye White, of Decatur; granddaughter, Alexis Collins; and brother, Larry White.

Pallbearers will be Phil Hodges, Dennis Monk, John McGough, Joey Coxwell, Roger Weatherwax and Tommy Paulk.

A special thanks to caregiver, Corrine Lawrence for helping us through this difficult time.

Tommy will be truly missed, be we are so thankful for the time God shared him with us.
