John Thomas Wallace Jr. 73, of Decatur passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Decatur Alabama to John and Edna Earl Wallace Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1965 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur. He was survived by his wife, Barbara Ventura Wallace, his children, John Thomas Wallace III (Michelle) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Roberson Payne Wallace (Sara) of Denver, Colorado, Page Wallace Beer (Sam) and Alston Wallace Davis (Chad) of Tampa, Florida; Sisters, Sandra Putnam (Mike) of Decatur, Alabama and Jeannie Earl Wallace; brother William Payne Wallace (Linda) also of Decatur, Alabama also eleven grandchildren. The family extends special thanks to the Doctors and nurses of Decatur Morgan Hospital and Clearview Clinics, Hospice of the Valley and Decatur Fire Department Station #3. There will be a service at a later date at his beloved family farm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to First Baptist Church, Hospice of the Valley or Decatur Firefighters. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
