John Thomas Gilchrist, 66, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born in Hamilton, AL, was a water plant operator and a member of First Baptist Church, Hamilton, AL.
Services will be Saturday, October 28, 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hamilton, AL with Dr. Eddie Davidson and Bro. Jeremy Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton City Cemetery, Hamilton, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Deidre Gilchrist; brother, David Timothy Gilchrist (Joanie) and daughter, Payton Gilchrist; sister, Lauren Gilchrist; brothers-in-law, Derrick Edward Swartz, Rockwell Clayton Swartz (Jess) and sons, Rockwell David Swartz and Christian Patrick Swartz; sister-in-law, Roxanne Talley (Mark) and children, Hannah and Jackson Talley; father and mother-in-law, Edward Lee Swartz and Judith Dianne Swartz and lifelong childhood friend, Gerald Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Gilchrist, Jr. and Barbara Tate Gilchrist.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 28, 12-1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hamilton, AL.
