John T. Harper, age 89, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Haleyville Health Care.
John was born on September 05, 1935, in Franklin County and lived in Illinois for about seventeen years. He attended church at Macedonia Baptist Church. He was part owner of Dixie Heat Treating for 18 years. John’s hobbies include woodworking, building bird houses, and working in his shop. He enjoyed traveling around searching for antiques and flea markets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin & Oplus (Laster) Harper; brother, Louis Harper; and baby sister.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42 years, Paulette Harper; daughters, Fran Davis (Russ), Tancie Bendall (Terry); stepsons, Tim Franks, Terry Franks (Tina); 12 grandchildren; 21-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the service following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Bro. Eddie Wix will officiate the service. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Andrew Bendall, Adam Bendall, Aaron Franks, Aaron Hatton, Evan Franks, Rodney Franks, and William Earl Bishop.
