John T. Blair, Jr., 82, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Wednesday. Mr. Blair was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. He taught high school math, chemistry and physics before joining the US Government where he worked for 40 years. John was a member of First Baptist Church and was an ordained Deacon for 58 years.
Survivors include wife, Liz Blair; son, Mark Blair of Huntsville; daughter, Jama Nickles (Nick) of Owens Cross Roads; grandchildren, Erin Prestridge (John), Courtney Nickles (fiancé, Sam Browning), Paul Hunter (Alexandra), Blair Hunter (LeighAne), Duncan Blair, and Spencer Nickles; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Blair (Pat) of Lexington, KY; sisters, Eunice Johnston of Temple, TX and Martha Mossbarger (Buddy) of Lexington, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Chapel, Huntsville, AL. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Travis Collins officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
