John Sherrill Tomlinson, 72, of Rogersville died Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was a 1960 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Local IBEW #558.
Visitation will be Monday, March 7th, 2016 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel. Burial will be in McCartney Cemetery.
Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by his parents, John & Lula Tomlinson; brother, Charles Tomlinson and nephew, Steve Jeffers. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce McCrary Tomlinson; children, Tamara (Jerry) Helmer, Tracey (Mickey) Thornton and Tonya Leon; grandchildren, Lucas & Jacob Donahue, Victoria (Brian) Frost, Damon Leon, Trent (Crystal), Hollie and Amanda Thornton; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Dale Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews.
