Mr. John Roy (Ray) Evans, age 79, of Harvest, formerly of Jackson County, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019. He was born in Jackson County on May 13, 1939. He was a long time, well known, Alabama political pollster, worked in advertising for TV and radio for many years, and most recently working in real estate in the Huntsville and Madison area.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Anthony Dickerson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Keith (Connie) Evans of Section, AL; grandsons, John (Kim) Evans of Madison, AL and Ryan (Nelly) Evans of Section, AL; 4 great grandchildren, Juliea, Natalee, Peyton, and Reagan Evans; brother, JB (Gert) Evans of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; sister, Elizabeth (Ron) Stevens of Rossville, GA; and several nieces and nephews and host of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Evans; mother, Bertha Ellen (Manning) Bradford, and step father, Charles Dee Bradford.
