Mr. John Robert Thomas Sr. “Shorty”, 80, of Florence, passed away Dec. 24, 2013, at ECM Hospital. He was a member of the Elgin Primitive Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Gene and Jimmy Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Billie June Thomas; son, Johnny R. Thomas Jr. (Linda); grandchildren, John Bradley Thomas (Francie), Stefanie Thomas Norris (Brandon), and Joshua Kyle Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Brina and Siri Norris.
Pallbearers will be Gary Holden, Hermon Graham, Jeff Cox, Earl Cox, Billy Gifford, and Trent English
