Funeral service for John Richard Johnston, 75, will be Friday, September 1, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnston died on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1948, in Cobb County, to Luther Virgil Johnston and Lillian Maxwell Holmes Johnston.
Mr. Johnston passed away peacefully at home and entered into eternal healing after a brief battle with cancer. Richard enjoyed a full career as an electrical engineer. In retirement, he enjoyed playing the piano and violin and using his HAM radio.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Luther and Lillian Johnston, an infant child and his daughter: Sarah Catherin Johnston Roy.
