John Richard “Johnny” Keith – Obituary

johnJohn Richard “Johnny” Keith, 62, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 24, 2015, at The Meadows in Fulton into the arms of our Lord. He was born July 22, 1952, to Ray and Uneeda Keith. He lived in Shannon until moving to Tupelo in 1965. He was active in the Tupelo High School Band and played first chair trombone. During high school he worked for Phillips Garden Center as well as North Mississippi Medical Center. After high school he attended IJC and then began working as a cable repair technician for Bell South. He retired after 26 years of service. During his tenure he was rewarded with numerous awards. He was an active member of Belden Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. He love hunting and fishing, especially hunting in Colorado. He was also an avid gun collector.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 27, at Lee Memorial Park at 2 p.m. with Dr. Don Baggett officiating. Visitation will be today, May 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Baggett (Anthony) of Tupelo; his son, Brian Keith of Corinth; grandchildren, Chase and Cole Baggett and Hunter and Brayden Keith; his sister, Jo Ann Keith of Little Rock, Ark.; his brother, Kenny Keith (Corinne) of Belden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Uneeda Keith; his grandparents, Cecil and Abbey Keith, and Anderson and Georgie Holder.

Pallbearers will be Will Dodson, Keith Saylors, Willie Payne, Warner Collier Jr., Gary Blake and Larry Blake.
