John Peter Mariani, 87, passed away on July 27, 2024, at his residence. He was born March 29, 1937, in Lucca, Italy, to Calisto and Elide Sargentini Mariani. His father died ten years after his birth and he was raised by his uncle/dad, Agabito Mariani.
Mr. Mariani is survived by his daughters Donna Gale Hopewell (Heather) and Sherry Lam (Xia); sons John Paul Mariani (Shannon) and Joseph Agabito Mariani; seventeen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sumalee Mariani; father Calisto Mariani; dad Agabito Mariani; mother Elide Sargentini Mariani; brothers Luigi Mariani and Natale Mariani; and daughter-in-law Cynthia Mariani.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Utah Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Mariani was a proud Italian immigrant who loved his adopted country. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force. He considered it an honor to serve his new country.
