John Paul DeCola, age 23 of Thompsons Station, passed away at his home on June 25, 2022.
John was born Feb 24, 1999 in Meridian, MS, to James “Jim” and Lauren DeCola. He was named after John Lennon & Paul McCartney and born on George Harrison’s actual birthday. He was a 2017 graduate of Summit High School and was employed as a Tire Technician 3 with Tire Discounters in Spring Hill.
John was an avid skate boarder who practically grew up on a skateboard. He loved skateboarding, drawing, painting and picked up the hobby of videography during high school. He was quick witted and will be remembered for his comical sense of humor and pranks. He was very loving, and sensitive, caring for others, sometimes before himself. John was extremely intelligent and naturally talented. His joy for life was shared with friends and family who loved him very dearly.
Managers and coworkers described John “as a quick learner, who was very skilled and who truly cared about his job. He possessed an incredibly strong work ethic and if he saw a job that needed to be done, he did it without being asked. John was kind-hearted with fellow coworkers and customers. He was successful.”
John was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Chet DeCola and maternal grandparents Otto and Eugena Hausman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister: Emily DeCola; and paternal grandmother: Rita DeCola; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers who treated him like family.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at the Cherry Grove Clubhouse 3008 Stewart Campbell Point on July 23rd from 4:00-7:00pm.
