John Ottern Morrow Sr., 88, of Red Bay, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Southern Magnolia in Golden. He was born in Franklin County, Ala., to Alex and Margie Morrow. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Red Bay for 57 years, and was a graduate of Auburn University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Brother Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery, Vina. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are three children, Dr. Sue Parker (Ernest Jr.), of North Port, Ala.; John O. Morrow Jr. (Connie M.), of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and Mark D. Morrow, of North Port, Ala.; two grandchildren, Ernest Parker III and Adam C. Morrow; one brother, Ray Morrow, of Saraland, Ala.; two sisters, Joyce Purser and Louise Raper, both of Red Bay.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Hester, John A. Morrow, Johnny Mack Morrow, Billy Bolton, Bobby Davidson and Murray Morrow.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, noon to 2 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay
