He retired in 1989 as the Vocational Director in the Education Department in Monroe, NC. He served in the military for two years before joining the International Male Chorus. John attended Mississippi State University, where he received his Master’s Degree in Education.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Yarbrough Fulgham, who he lovingly referred to as his Angel; brothers, Gene and Bob Fulgham; and sisters, Margie Fulgham and Betty O’Brian.
He is survived by sister, Birdie Harpole (Demar) of Brandon, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church in Maben, MS, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater, MS. George (Dink) O’Brian and Rev. Larry Halford will conduct the service.
