John Leon Millican III John Leon Millican III, passed away on January 25, 2023. He was born on November 6, 1956 to Addie Mae Millican Hargrove and John Leon Millican, Jr. and the youngest of five children. John grew up in the wonderful community of Bunker Hill where he was a friend to all. John had an infectious smile that you would never forget once you met him. He was fearless, kind, gentle, giving and always there to help someone in need.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The Funeral Service will follow at 4:00pm on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 at 4:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

A private family burial will be held at Maplewood Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Tullo and Edna Minatra, Rory Mae and John Millican, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Holt Millican, of Pulaski; brother Ralph (Susie), sisters Mary Ann Lewter (Owen), Helen McGrew (Albert) all of Pulaski, and Eileen Terry of Athens, AL. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends Marie Pratt, Lana McConnell and staff and residents of Ivy Crest ACLF.

He was co-owner of M&M Trucking in the 70’s, traveling many miles for Pulaski Rubber Company. In the early 1980’s he worked for the Giles County Board of Education in the maintenance department and attended Calhoun Technical College to become a certified heating, air conditioning and ventilation technician.

In 1985, John and Donna founded A-1 Heating and Cooling, Inc. It was a very successful company for 30+ years, state licensed in Tennessee and Alabama. A-1 was a member of the Tennessee Valley Authority Quality Contractor Network, receiving numerous awards and recognitions for his accomplishments and achievements, as well as the Trane Company and other trade entities.

1998. Ivy Crest Assisted Living, LLC was opened which was a design build project that he was most proud of. The decision for retirement from heating and air came in 2017 where he could focus on his true love, Ivy Crest.

John was an accomplished sheet metal and wood craftsman. He was a heavy equipment operator and could build anything. He loved any kind of adventure and welcomed a challenge. whether it be scuba or skydiving, snow or waterskiing, especially his hydrofoil doing tricks on Tims Ford Lake. He was an avid sailor and loved the water. He was an accomplished mechanic and had a love for old cars, especially the 69 Camaro Z-10 pace car which he took completely apart and rebuilt from the frame up and won numerous awards from the Antique Automotive Car Association.

John loved to travel visiting all 50 United States and many countries abroad. After retirement, he and Donna enjoyed many adventures traveling in their RV. He had a motorcycle from a very early age and loved riding, experiencing many cross-country trips over the years. His latest love of cycling was his Speedy Feet motorized unicycle which he was seen often speeding around town.
