John Lemuel Neyman, Jr., 84, Florence, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Derek Paetow officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
John was a graduate of Sheffield High School, Class of 1956. He was a member Christ the King Lutheran Church, where he served as Elder, and a member of the Royal Ambassadors for Christ. He was active in community theatre as a member of the Zodiac Players. John worked for Reynolds Metals Company as a Master Machinist for over thirty years. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-four years, Linda Gammon Neyman; brother, David L. Neyman; sister, Barbara Neyman Lambert; and parents, John L. and Edith J. Neyman.
John is survived by his wife, Sue Moore Neyman; children, John Neyman III (Donna), Debbie Thompson (John David), and Britt Neyman (Rhonda); stepchildren, Frank Moore (Ashley), Ben Moore (Kim), Joel Moore (Stephanie), and Suzanne Brown; sisters, Angela Cantrell and Sara Sandlin; grandchildren, Colby Neyman, Ben Neyman, Chelsea Neyman, Caroline Neyman, Spencer Cantrell, Evan Cantrell, Joey Moore, Mallory Moore Layton, Elliott and Evie Moore, Emma Larless, and Sawyer and Kaleb Moore; and lifelong friend, Jim Holland.
Pallbearers will be Colby Neyman, Evan Cantrell, Ben Neyman, Spencer Cantrell, Jamiel Cantrell, and Joey Moore. The SHS Class of ’56 Bulldog Breakfast Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
