Mr. John Lavarus Moore Mr. John Lavarus Moore
July 9, 1977 – December 13, 2024

John was the most loveable man ever. He was cherished by all who knew him (even his dog Nyla). He touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his unforgettable presence. John was joyful and had an optimistic outlook on life. His faith and trust in the Lord was the hallmark of his character and gave him the courage and spiritual stamina to be happy and encouraging to others during his sickness. John always wore a smile on his face even through the pain. He loved sports and played basketball during his high school years and also coached Recreational League basketball. Every opportunity he had he played basketball with the neighborhood kids and encouraged them to be the best that they could be.

John, known as “Varus” to most, made his entrance into the world on July 09, 1977 to his loving parents: Wanda (Willis) Langham of Harvest, AL and Ronnie (Anna) Elliott of Huntsville, AL. He departed his life on December 13, 2024 at Hospice Family Care surrounded by loved ones.

John graduated from Sparkman High School in 1995. He accepted Christ in the late 1990s and was baptized as a member of Blackburn Chapel CPCA Church. John later moved his membership to Potter’s Hands Church. John was a dedicated employee at Kommerling USA until he became too ill to continue his employment. Even through his illness John continued to persevere until the end.

John leaves to cherish his memories with his Wife: Valarie; Children: Asia Benally, Jalen Moore, Keiona Moore, Tamea Turner, Jordan Moore, and Kaiden Moore; as well as a Bonus Daughter: Talea Turner; Sisters: Jamila Cartwright and Ashley Elliott; Brothers: Antonio Moore and Ronnie Elliott; Sister-in-law: Tekeisha Horton; Uncles: John E.
