John Larry Watkins, 84, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at his residence.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2020, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, burial will be at Scott Cemetery. Rev. Haskell Tinker will officiate.
Larry was a long time resident of the Roebuck Community in Birmingham, he married LeRoyce Sullivan in 1957. They had one child, Camilla Lariece. He worked and managed Bates Vestavia Hills Shell for 39 years. Larry served in the United States Army for three years. He was a Master Mason Metro East King Solomon No. 932 of F&AM of the Grand Lodge of Alabama, a member of Eastern Star Chapeters Sadie Deerr No. 350 and Ruth No. 3, past and present Grand Representative OES of Alabama. Larry was a loyal husband, father, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LeRoyce Sullivan Watkins; daughter, Camilla Lariece Watkins; parents, John Cullen Watkins and Estelle Anderson Watkins; sisters, Jeanette Watkins Jones and Virilla Watkins.
He is survived by his brother, Glen Watkins (Anne) of Jasper; sister, Geneva Williams (Dorain) of Jasper; brother-in-law, WL Sullivan (Pat); sister-in-law, Evelyn Phyfer (Richard) and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
