John Joseph "Jack" Kelly John Joseph “Jack” Kelly, 85, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on March 3, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born on August 12, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jack, a beloved father and grandfather, will be deeply missed by his family.

Jack served his country with honor and dedication, first in the US Army National Guard from 1953 to 1972, and later in the US Navy Reserves from 1972 to 1998. He worked as an electrical/calibration technician for the Redstone Arsenal until his retirement in 1994.

In his free time, Jack enjoyed playing golf and softball in his younger years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church. Those who wish to honor his memory can make contributions to Good Shepherd Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.

Jack is survived by his son John Kelly III, daughter Karen Kelly, and granddaughter Kelly Melton. He is preceded in death by his mother Alice Murphy and brother William Kelly.

Jack’s kind and caring nature touched the lives of many, especially his family. He found joy in the simple moments, like walking his beloved “grandpuppy” Flynn every day. His legacy of love and selflessness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rest in peace, Jack. Your memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
