John “Johnny” Lovell, 80, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 5th from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at Rogersville Funeral Home with funeral service following in the chapel. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. David Cox will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Rickie Kellum, CJ Kellum, Riley Pendergrass, Kobie Pendergrass, Avery Pendergrass and Timothy Scroggins.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Bertha Mae Lovell; brothers, Henry Lovell and Jimmie Lovell; and brother-in-law, L.W. Weir. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Nell Lovell; daughters, Vivian (Boone) Parker, Denise (Allen) Hambright; grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Alaina Hambright; sister, Doris Mae Lovell, Jeannette Weir; brother, Dan Lovell; aunt, Helen Blankenship; numerous nieces, nephews and members of extended family.
The family would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to Dr. DeFoor, Dr. Masterson, Dr. Barron, Clearview Cancer Center, Nurse Allison Heard, Sandra Wagnon Holland and Gentiva Hospice for their care and love they showed to the whole family.
