John Harvey (Johnny) Allen died this past weekend shortly before his 66th birthday. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Allen Jr. He is survived by his mother, Opaline Henson Allen, his brothers, Gregory and Timothy Allen, his sons, Zachary and Jacob Allen, one granddaughter, and a group of steadfast life-long friends. He was a graduate of Sparkman High School and Oakwood College. Though his career was in materials management, his great love was always music. He was a musician, songwriter and poet. He took great pride in being a member of a local band, Jamie Hurt and the Mariteens. He was also extremely proud of his Native American heritage. Visitation and a celebration of his life will take place Sunday, December 21, 2014, from 2 to 5 P.M., at Ardmore Chapel in Ardmore, Alabama. A memorial service for the immediate family will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Madison Cross Roads School Music Department.

I have often wondered what your life was like after we left Pulaski. I have never stopped loving you when we parted ways! Waya the wind dog , Unalai the wind horse. We laid out at night looking at the stars ✨ feeling the wind and the rain. You calling me your wife and our trip to Philadelphia to the poetry convention. I will forever love you. CHIEF of the wind.WIND EAGLE. Your Princess Night 🌟. Wherever the wind blows I know you will be there my love. I will know you are forever with me. I pray your ashes were cast into the wind in that place we loved to go. Good bye my love.
