John Gregory Murray has transformed to perpetual light! John died at NMMC in Tupelo at 1:43 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 77 years old. A happy, go lucky soul, John had an incredible life filled with love, laughter, generosity, hard work and independence. John was born in Kansas City, Kansas on June 16, l945 to the late John Jeffrey Murray and Dorothy Evelyn Crowley. He grew up in Kansas and served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era. John had a fascinating job much of his life with NASA, primarily as a master welder, headquartering in Deland, Fla. for over 30 years. He was affiliated with the Kennedy Space Center and had classified secret clearance. Fascinated with total precision and method all his life, he got things done to perfection and could repair most anything. A Free Mason who knew the value of brotherly love, truth and relief, John was always using his time and money to help others. John loved his Harley, enjoyed guns and was certified as a Glock Armour. He enjoyed leisure, made the most of every day and lived large. A parishioner of St. John Catholic Church for many years, John was a student of the Bible. Well read, he enjoyed good literature, being with family but his greatest fulfillment was being a Papa to his grandchildren. \
