John Edwin Hartsfield was born on November 19, 1943 to Sim Sr. and Louise Hartsfield. John passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Sim Jr; and his sister, Ann Voce. He is survived by his son, Murray (Ariel) Hartsfield; his son, Matt (Rachel) Hartsfield; his granddaughter, Deryn; his grandsons, Ryker and Jakob; sisters, Rose Loper and Mary McCarty; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
John loved his family. He enjoyed seeing and spending time with his grandchild. He had a heart for the Lord. He also loved all things Auburn Tigers. He bled for the orange and blue.
John’s “Celebration of Life” will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Decatur Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama. The visitation will take place from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM with the service following at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a non-profit charity of your choice in and around Decatur, Alabama.
