John Edward Hudson passed away on October 25, 2023, at the age of 65 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
John was born on December 4, 1957, in Tuscumbia, AL to the late Henry O. Hudson and Jewel Tinnin Hudson. Later in life, he went to college at the University of Tennessee. After completing his Bachelor’s degree from UT Knoxville, John embarked on a successful career as an accountant. For many years, he applied his meticulous attention to detail and innate talent for numbers to support numerous businesses and individuals in managing their finances. John’s commitment to his profession earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike.
Despite dedicating himself to his career, John found joy outside of the office with his beloved hobbies and interests. He had an unwavering passion for attending gun shows and had an impressive collection of guns and pocket knives that he cherished. Westerns held a special place in John’s heart; he loved immersing himself in tales of brave cowboys and rugged adventures. Additionally, John was a huge supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He treasured watching their games and cheering them on with great enthusiasm.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lauren Hudson (Dillon Taylor) and Wesley Hudson (Shania Higgins); grandson, Draco Taylor; sister, Nancy Blair (Ron); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dean and Lynn Armour; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy Leach (Malinda); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Taleah Hudson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. October 28, 2023, at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN. The family will receive friends at Arrington Funeral Directors from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the graveside service.
John Edward Hudson leaves behind cherished memories and legacies that will endure for generations. His remarkable career as an accountant, his love for his hobbies, and his devout support for the UT Vols will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of sharing their lives with him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory serve as a guiding light for us all.
