John Edward Burton, Jr, age 72 of Greenbrier, TN passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at his residence. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 24th at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Bro. Donnie Bryant and Bro. Gary Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tanner Harris, Hunter Harris, Asa Harris, Brandon Moss, Joe Taylor and Tod Stevenson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Cavender, Ivan Bell, Jerry Taylor and Billy Burns. Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, Feb. 22nd at the funeral home, 12pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at the funeral home and 1pm until time of service on Thursday, Feb. 24 at Calvary Baptist Church.
John was born in Detroit, MI on November 13, 1949 to the late Johnie Edward (Sr) and Thelma Harper Burton. He was also preceded in death by sister, Brenda Campbell and a brother, Dennis Burton.
He served in the US Army and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his family first and foremost. He enjoyed his motorcycle, cars, woodworking, playing guitar and karaoke.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Matthews Burton of Greenbrier; sons, Trey (Tammy) Harris, Jason Harris, Morgan Harris all of Greenbrier; sisters, Deborah (Billy) Pyburn of Springfield, Angela (Sam) Madiza of Elmwood, TN; grandchildren, Tanner (Kaycee) Harris, Hunter Harris, Asa Harris, Brandon (Nicole) Moss, Miranda Stewart; great-grandchildren, Grayson Harris, Rylan Moss and Ryleigh Anne Harris.
