Mr. John Earl Roden Sr. John Earl Roden Sr., age 83, of Albertville, Alabama, formerly of Peabody, Massachusetts, where he resided for 60 years, passed away Saturday evening peacefully in his home. He was born in Marshall County on March 17, 1941, to the late Chalmus and Edna (Benefield) Roden.
John was a proud member of the Teamster Local 42. He had a passion for collecting and selling old tools, enjoyed gardening, and always loved a good conversation with family, friends, and any new person he met.

He is survived by his daughters, Debby (Brian) Richardson, Darlene (Bruce) Shapiro; son, John Roden, Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Zachary and Avery Richardson; siblings, Jeanette Creel, Reba Cox, and Carol Creel; special friend, Bobbie Edmonds; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Herlihy Roden, with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. As well as his brothers-in-law, Vaudus Creel, John Cox, and Ronald Creel. And his beloved nephew, Ferrell Roden.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Pankey, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am. Service and burial in Peabody, Massachusetts will be announced at a later date.
