Funeral service for John Dunaway Sims, 56, will be Monday, April 22, 2019 at 12:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Wells officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will observe a private graveside service. Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Sims died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born October 5, 1962, in Morgan County to George William Sims and Catherine Ann Dunaway Sims. He was employed by Crestwood Medical Center as a Registered Pharmacist, holding the title of Assistant Director of Pharmacy. He was a Hartselle High School graduate, a 1987 graduate of Auburn University and a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity at Auburn University. John was an avid fisherman and deer hunter.
