John David Schaefer passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2015, at the age of 82. Mr. Schaefer was a loving husband and father. He began his career as a high school history teacher and a basketball coach. Mr. Schaefer worked in Industrial Management Training and Organizational Development for General Motors, then worked at Cummins Onan and Boeing. He was a graduate of Central Michigan University then obtained a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Mr. Schaefer was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Schaefer is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia R. Schaefer and his sister, Barbara Schaefer Kersten.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Schaefer of Brentwood, TN; sons, Michael Schaefer of San Diego, CA and Todd Schaefer of Horn Lake, MS; sister, Jane Bostwick of Boulder, CO; brothers, Fred Schaefer of Marysville, MI, and Stephen Schaefer of Grosse Point Park, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, April 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jeff Parker officiating. A time of gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
