John David Littrell – Obituary

John David Littrell, 90, of Florence, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017.

He was a WWII veteran, serving on the USS San Diego in the Pacific Theater.  He retired from Robbins Tire and Rubber, and he owned and operated an upholstery business for 70 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stephen Littrell and Inez Bailey Littrell; his seven brothers and sisters, Alvin, Eva Belle, Thekla, Milton, Fagon, Fred, and Howard; and his eldest son, John David Littrell, Jr.

 

Mr. Littrell is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Carroll Littrell; sons, Philip Littrell of Decatur, Georgia, and Donald Littrell of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Chad Littrell of Florence, Katie Littrell of Nashville, TN, and Whitney Littrell of St. Louis, MO; and great-granddaughter, Emma Sue.

 

Visitation will be Monday, February 13, from 6-8 PM at Greenview Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 14, at Greenview Memorial Park, with Ellis Coates officiating.

 

Pallbearers will be sons, Philip Littrell and Donald Littrell, grandson, Chad Littrell, nephews, Kenneth Carroll and Anthony Carroll, and close friend, Charles Phillips.
