John Darrell “Jack” Freeman, age 89 of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on Monday September 2, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann Maher Freeman; his daughters, Cheri Crysel (spouse, William) and Traci Freeman (spouse, Chris Whitehead); and two grandchildren, Caitlin Croak (spouse, Jamie) and McKenzie Corley (spouse, Keegan). He was predeceased by his father, Rex Freeman; his mother, Hannah Freeman; and seven siblings.

Jack was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota in 1934, as the youngest child of seven, attending elementary and middle school there and he graduated from Two Harbors High School. His activities included basketball and baseball. He went on to serve in the Coast Guard and the Army before beginning his long professional career.

Excellence and mastery marked his professional career with a long successful performance across the country in various locations for the Boeing Company as a Finance Manager, Material Manager and Site Leader.

Jack lived a full life as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague. His work ethic, integrity and standards of excellence were admired by those who knew him.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 13550 Chaney Thompson Road, SE, Huntsville, AL 35803. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. There will be a private family gathering at the graveside.
