John D “Jack” Brew

Jack was a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he received his bachelor’s of mechanical engineering degree. He worked as an engineer for Areva in Mt. Vernon, IN and Lynchburg for a total of 36 years.

Jack had a lifelong love of cars. He built a ’23 roadster street rod beginning in high school, later updated the roadster and won many trophies at car shows; then spent many happy hours offloading with his family in his customized red Jeep Rubicon. Jack lived with his family in Forest for 32 years in a house he designed himself.

Surviving him is his wife of 46 years, Kathy, his children Jill (Dave) O’brien and Lisa (Jeff) Foxwell, two granddaughters, and siblings Jere (Claire) Brew, Nancy (Ken) Gepfert, William (Jane) Brew, and James (Beverly) Brew.

A Mass of Ressurection will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Bedford, Virginia on Saturday, June 10, with Visitation at 10 and Mass at 11.
