John ThomasJohn Charles “Chuck” Thomas, 76, Muscle Shoals, went to his heavenly home, Dec.17, 2012.

He was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church.

The visitation will be Tuesday, Dec.18, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Greg Willis officiating the service.

Charles was a man of great faith and shared comfortably about his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an insurance agent until retirement working as a debit agent and staff manager in the Shoals and Huntsville areas. He was a loyal and faithful husband, father, grandfather, businessman and friend. Chuck was also an avid bowler, being actively involved in seasonal leagues and tournaments from the time he was 17. After his retirement he learned to use a computer and enjoyed connecting through social media and online games.

He is survived by his wife Glenda English Thomas; daughters, Sandra Thomas Clements (Wayne) of Columbus, MS, Carol Thomas Spalding (Lou) of Muscle Shoals, and Barbara Thomas of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Jenna Clements Long (Jay), Jessica Clements Combs, and Sam Spalding; great-grandchild Julian Long; brother Frank Thomas of Huntsville; sister Patricia Allison (Ray) of Waleska, Ga; step-daughters, Susan Pounders (Bennie) of Barton, Charlotte Lovelace (Mike) of Florence, and Donna Leonard (Chester) of Tuscumbia; step-son, Matthew Barrier (Shawna) of Tuscumbia; step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ozga Thomas; and parents, Arbutus Lyon Thomas and Hubert Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Robert English, Mike Lovelace and Sonny Michael,. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jack’s Bowling Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the First Southern Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals.
