John Billy “Bill” Franks age 90 of Winfield, AL passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at his daughter’s residence.
Born March 30, 1932 in Lamar County, AL he is the son of the late Woods Henry and Earlie Virginia Miller Franks and the husband of Janice Perry Franks. He had lived in Guin most of his life, retired from NTN Bower, was a Veteran having served in the US Army, and was a member of the Guin Church Of Christ. He loved his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Perry Franks, of Winfield, AL, a daughter, Jana (Danny) Gosa of Guin, AL, 2 sons, Barry Gilbreath of Jasper, AL and Joel Gilbreath of Guin, AL, 2 grand daughters, Heather (Jamerson) Hollis and Amber Gosa (Kalob Cantrell), 3 great grandchildren, Alice, Jensen, and Khloe, and a sister, Willie Mae Robertson of Guin, AL.
He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Graveside Services held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the Guin City Cemetery with Bill Green officiating.
