John Allen Ratliff passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the age of 76. He was born in Decatur on October 1, 1936, the son of the late Toney and Katie Washburn Ratliff. He retired from the GM Fisher Body Plant.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Earls Ratliff. He is also survived by his children, Darrell (Terry) Ratliff of Hopkins, Mich., and Rhonda (Steve) Allen of Plainwell, Mich.; his grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Rachel and Emma; his great-granddaughter, Violet; his siblings, Dr. James (Doris) Ratliff of Decatur and Wayne Ratliff of Kalamazoo, Mich. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister and their spouses, Wilburn and Judy Ratliff, Wanda and Dave Harrison, and his sister-in-law, Mary Ratliff. Funeral services were held on May 7th with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
