Joey Johnson, age 47 of Oakman, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Joey has been in Oakman Volunteer Fire Department since 2009. He is the training officer for the Walker County Firefighter Association. He also served as Lieutenant at the Parrish Fire Department. He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Odom Memorial Cemetery. Richard Meeks will officiate.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his Father-Chester Johnson; Grandfathers-George Willis Johnson and Asher Stribling; Grandmothers-Barbara Jean Johnson and Lillian Gates.
He is survived by his Wife-Misty Johnson; Mother-Lillian Terrell; Sons-Dakota Johnson and Carson Morrow (Haley); Brothers-John Johnson (Kelly) and Jerry Johnson; Grandchildren-Wrenley Morrow, Tylan Robbins, Parker Robbins, and Kinsley Robbins; 3 Nieces and 2 Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shane Calloway, Randy Phillips, Drake Romine, Jeris Crump, Chris Hicks, and Colt Courington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Oakman Fire Department and Parrish Fire Department.
