Joey James Willis, 50, Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A parlor service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Bro. Dwight Rivers officiating. A private graveside service will be held for the family at New Bethel Cemetery.
Joey worked as a brick mason for over thirty years. To know Joey was to love him. He was a free spirit and a legend in his own time. Joey had a passion for hunting arrowheads and spending time at the Rattlesnake Saloon, where he made many memories and dear friends. He was loved by all. But his greatest love and pride were for his family, especially his grandchildren. Joey was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Willis; maternal grandparents, Ludie and Alvie Kimbrough; and paternal grandparents, James and Martha Willis.
Joey is survived by his wife, Jessica Willis; children, Cody Willis (Lacey) and Kadie Willis; step-daughter, Katelyn Trevino; parents, Larry and Lynn Willis; sister, Misty Sockwell (Jason); grandchildren, Aubree, Lynnlee, Harper, Benton, Hudson, Ellie, and Sutton; and nieces, Montana and Sadie.
Pallbearers will be Cody Willis, Mark Barnes, Shelby Barnes, Austin Barnes, Jason Sockwell, and Bevin Foust.
