Joel Stephen Williams, 74, of Florence, Alabama passed away on November 26, 2024. Steve was born on October 2, 1950 to Helen and Tillman Williams. He was a member of the Cross Point Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Huntsville High School, Harding University, Harding Graduate School, Baylor University, and Amridge University.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dail Boyd Williams. He is also survived by his daughters, Christi Williams Lambert (Will), Stephanie Williams Vann (Sean); grandchildren, Madalyn, Lane (fiancee Maegan), Jenny, James, and Ashley Lambert; and sister, Sallie Dean (Hilton).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Helen Williams.
Steve was a man of faith and lived a life of service to the kingdom. He served as a minister for 36 years in congregations throughout the southeastern United States. He was a professor for Heritage University in Florence, AL and Amridge University in Montgomery, AL. He also authored numerous Christian articles and books.
Steve’s hobbies and interests included photography, cycling, eclectic music, yard sales, books, Bridge, and no one liked a good joke better than him whether it was funny or not. One of his early accomplishments was becoming an Eagle Scout. He also enjoyed nothing more than giving gifts to others.
A celebration of life service will be held at Cross Point Church of Christ on November 30. The visitation will be held from 1 – 2 with a service following at 2.
