Joel Anthony Farrar – Obituary

Joel Anthony Farrar, 80, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at The Meadows. He was born June 15, 1935 to the late Samuel Lafayette Farrar and the late Erma Floss Anthony Farrar. Before an accident rendered him disabled, he was a farmer, an active outdoorsman, and a school bus driver for Itawamba County. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church for many years where he served as Deacon. During his stay at The Meadows, the staff were not only his caregivers but became like family to him.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Harold ) Barkley of Tupelo; Sons: Todd (Amy) Farrar of Tremont and Rod Farrar of Fulton; Grandsons: Bailey (Gracie Thompson) Menetre of Tupelo, Corey Farrar of Fulton, and Krishtan Farrar of Fulton; Granddaughters: Holly (Luke) Kulp of Tupelo, and Abbey Farrar of Tremont; Great-grandsons: George and Pate Menetre, Jack Kulp, and Owen Farrar; Great-granddaughter, Carter Kulp; also survived by 4 Siblings.

Preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Betty Jean Farrar; Daughter, Anita Gail Farrar; and 6 Siblings.

Pallbearers are Todd Farrar, Rod Farrar, Bailey Menetre, Corey Farrar, Harold Barkley, and Dan Farrar.

Honorary Pallbearer is Krishtan Farrar.
