Joel Adam Broussard was born August 4th,1971, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He gave his life to Jesus at the tender age of 6, right before his father Pastor Ronsard Broussard entered the theology program at Oakwood University in 1977. His favorite past time in his youth was gathering his brothers and sisters for worship right after church. He would lead a whole service complete with vigorous and moving preaching. He was always ready to help others, always did what was asked of him without question and a smile. Joel was very versed in the Bible, and witnessed to whoever was receptive. He had a kind heart, and would help others and would try to find a way to be unseen in his benevolent actions.
As a result of many external traumas and internal crises, Joel suffered from an undiagnosed mental condition that led him to be homeless and disconnected from his family. He was lost to us for many years, despite all efforts to locate him. It wasn’t until three years ago that we were able to locate Joel, and our hopes were shattered when he refused our offers to come home. A week before his passing on his father’s last visit, Joel said he needed more time before returning home. Sleep well Joel, when you wake you will be going home.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Hector Mouzon officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
