Joe Taylor Williams Joe Taylor Williams, 82, of Guntersville passed away on Sunday, March 19 th at his home after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Joe was born on June 24, 1940, in Union Grove to Ermon Taylor and Sally Kate Williams. He was
a graduate of Marshall County High School, class of 1958 where he met his wife, Barbara Ann
Hornsby, They married on July 21, 1961 and spent 59 years together having one daughter and
three grandchildren.
Joe served in the Alabama National Guard and worked as a Senior Engineer and designer
primarily in the design and layout of piping systems. His career spanned 58 years working for
companies like Rust Engineering, BE&K, Brown Engineering, and Raytheon amongst others. He
also continued consulting for companies after retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors playing golf,
hunting, and was an avid Alabama Fan. He was a hard worker and handy man that could repair
anything.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Williams Brown of Huntsville, son in-law, Drew Brown
and three grandchildren, Anna Brown of Huntsville, William Brown of Nashville, and Wesley
Brown of Huntsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara Ann Hornsby. Carr Funeral Home
will provide burial services. Visitation for Mr. Williams will be at Union Grove First Baptist
Church, Union Grove, AL at 1:00 pm on March 24 th . Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with
burial at the Church Cemetery. Mr. Williams’ great nephew, Pastor Brandon Abbott of Spring
Hill, TN (formally of Arab) will officiate.
Drew Brown, William Brown, Wesley Brown, Johnathon Williams, Eddie Connick, and Steve
Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
