Joe Stockard Profile Photo Joe Stockard, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab. Born on December 5, 1938, to the late Happy and Bessie Stockard in Maury County, Tennessee, Joe lived a full and vibrant life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joe was truly one of a kind. Known for his warm personality and infectious spirit, he made friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger, and his genuine kindness endeared him to everyone. Joe’s capacity to connect with people and make them feel special was one of his greatest gifts.

Joe’s love for his family was immeasurable. He was cherished and loved by all. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Joe was also a passionate Tennessee Volunteers fan. His love for the team was well-known, and he rarely missed a game. In honor of his enthusiasm and loyalty to his favorite team, the family asks that guests wear Tennessee sports apparel to the service, a fitting tribute to a man who cheered so fervently for his beloved Volunteers.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mary Sue Stockard, Walter (Alice) Stockard, Sadie Black, Harris Stockard, Jim Stockard, Ruby Baker, and Oakleen Mash.

He is survived by his siblings: Robert (Wanda) Stockard, and Margaret (Vernon) Blocker.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Couch for not only being a wonderful doctor to Joe but also his friend and to Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab for their compassionate care.

A service for Joe will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to the start of the service. Joe will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Couch and the staff of Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
