Funeral services for Mr. Joe R. Sammons, age 77, will be held at 2 pm Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brian Griffin officiating. Burial will will in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sammons passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his home in Trenton, TN.
Mr. Sammons was a member of the Olive Branch Methodist Church, a former employee of ITT Milan, retired from King Technology, and a part-time farmer.
Mr. Sammons was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Rufus Sammons and Mattie Pearl Rochella Sammons; and a brother, George Sammons.
Mr. Sammons is survived by his wife of 57 years, Della Sammons; daughter Rita Sammons Carp (Donald); three grandchildren, Bethany Crockett Donaldson (Trent), Hunter Crockett (Faith), and Gioia Carp; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Grace Donaldson (his pride and joy) and Brayden Donaldson; and a sister, Patricia Todd (Russell).
