Joe Michael Boyette – Obituary

Mr. Joe Michael Boyette, 59, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at North MS Medical Center Hospice Unit following an extended illness. He was born May 10, 1957 in Union Co., MS to Bobby Joe Boyette and Ava Ruth Scaly Boyette. The family moved to Tupelo from Tippah Co. in 1968. After graduating high school he worked in the family business, Southeast Milk; then he became a self-employed truck driver, mostly hauling furniture supplies. He traveled over three million miles without a citation or an accident. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and his love for the outdoors. Michael was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church.
A service celebrating his life will be at 2 PM, Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Bill Baker officiating. A graveside service will be at 4 PM at Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley. Visitation will be Monday from 11 AM to service time only.
Survivors include his father, Bobby Boyette of Tupelo; two brothers, Mark Boyette (Alicia Grubbs Reynolds) of Nashville, TN and David Alan Boyette (Cindy) of Moulton, AL; one niece, Amy Boyette,, two nephews, Jason Boyette and Josh Boyette; his aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
