Joe Mac Smith age 78 of Guin, AL passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at his residence.
Born March 13, 1941 in Guin, AL, he is the Son of the late Bennett Franklin and Ora Mae Weaver Smith. He graduated from MCHS in 1961, and had lived in Guin and Haleyville most of his life. He served in the National Guard for 9 years and was a member of the New Hope Church Of Christ and owned and operated Harden Manufacturing in Haleyville.
He is survived by 2 sons, Craig (Deidre) Smith of Rosemary Beach, FL, and Ken (Jennifer) Smith of Guin, AL, 3 Grandchildren, Dylan (Savannah) Smith, Brennan Smith, and Savannah Diane Smith, 2 sisters, Carolyn Faye Smith Reese of Fulton, MS, and Linda Diane Smith Plyler of Guin, AL, and 2 brothers, Wayne Franklin Smith of Cookeville, TN and Randall Bennett Smith of Guin, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tanner Colby Smith and a sister, Doris Gay Smith Wilson.
Services held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the New Hope Church Of Christ with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens with Bobby Wright officiating.
