Joe Larry West, age 73 of Belvidere, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the Beechgrove (Hoodoo) Community in Coffee County on February 10, 1950, to the late Buford and Lerah Reed. Joe served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War then went on to become a pipefitter for TVA. He enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking and hunting, but most of all cherished the time spent with his beloved family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry West; sister, Joyce Ann Bateman; half-brother, David West; and grandparents, William and Mary West. Joe is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Laquita Diane West; daughters, Angelina West, Cindy (Daniel) Stephens, and Shana (Bobby) Roland; grandchildren, Juliann (Kyle) Arp, Jocelyn Taylor, Alex (Caitlin) Stephens, Walker (Meleah) Stephens, and Bailey Roland; great-grandchildren, Gentry Stephens and Hallie Jo Arp; brother, John Johnson; and half-siblings, Wayne Pruitt, Ricky Pruitt, Ronnie Pruitt, Randy West, Joyce Glasco, Kathy Woody, and Jo Ann Griffin. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
