Joe Glenn Tidwell, 79, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Vanderbilt Neurological Center in Nashville TN. He was born January 26, 1943, in Huntsville AL, the son of Paul Bragg “Joe” Tidwell and Wynnell (McGee) Tidwell.
Joe graduated from Huntsville High School in 1960 and then earned his BS degree from Auburn University. He was recruited from Auburn by IBM where he was employed until his retirement. Throughout his career, he made many lifelong friends in Manassas VA, St. Louis MO, Tucson AZ, as well as Huntsville AL.
Joe enjoyed fishing, watching old Western shows, browsing antique stores, and tinkering in his workshop. More than anything, Joe loved his family. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church where he met his wife. Knowing Joe trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior bring great comfort to all his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Deborah (Gray) Tidwell, are his daughters, Catherine (Kevin) Fore, of Alpharetta GA, and Elizabeth Tidwell of Tucson AZ; three grandchildren, Brianna, Zanea, and Alaycia; two great-grandchildren, Azaya and Amaziah, all of Tucson AZ; his sister, Sallye (Tony) Reppucci; his brother, Steve (Pat) Tidwell, both of Huntsville; three nieces, Sarah Thomas of Helena Al, Tracye Wynn of Birmingham, and Ashley Rogers of Huntsville; and three nephews, Michael Reppucci, Danny Rogers both of Huntsville, and Timmy Wynn of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Michael Reppucci, Danny Rogers, Greyson Rogers, Riley Rogers, Michael Thomas, Timmy Wynn, and Kirt Lowe, neighbor.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 27, 2022, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m.
