Mr. Joe Ed Horton was born in Collinwood, TN to the late Eldred and Goldie Crider Horton on June 23, 1936. Mr. Joe Horton spent his childhood growing up in the Collinwood community. He would later be united in marriage to Ms. Nellie F. Simmons on June 07, 1958, and the two would make Cypress Inn their home, raising their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord always presenting a Christian influence on his family. Mr. Horton and his wife being lifetime members of the Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN could always be depended on to attend worship services at their beloved Millrock Congregation.  He also would work hard to support his family, working for Maury Ohio in Lawrenceburg for many years.  He loved the outdoors spending time in the beautiful artwork his Lord had made enjoying farming, gardening, and sawmilling. Being a deeply devoted family man, he cherished the time he spent with his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren, giving the “little ones” wagon horse rides through the countryside.
